Sexual Abuse Training for Homeschool Groups and Coops
As fellow home educators, we have a passion to inform homeschool families on the issue of sexual abuse. We are living in spectacularly dangerous times to
raise our families. But, like always, God is pouring out His provision to us in these days. He is alerting, equipping, and comforting us with His wisdom
for our families.
After the tragedy of abuse rocked our own family’s world, we have learned so many things that have caused us to adjust how we protect our younger children.
We hope you will take the time and effort to join us in raising up a clear standard against the devil’s schemes to harm our children.
Below you will find resources and strategies to help your families. Please feel free to contact us with other specific questions you may have. We stand
with you in prayer believing that our children will be protected and equipped to stand in a wicked and perverse generation…to the glory of God.
How to Use the Homeschool Group Kit:
1. Use the Unmask resource as a seminar or workshop resource for your group.
Your kit contains a video teaching with six sessions that is appropriate for group, family, or individual usage. In a homeschool group, you could watch one or more sessions together as a group and then give each a family an opportunity to purchase their own copy of the Unmask the Predator book to complete their study at home. Study questions for your group as well as application questions for your families are found in the workbook that is included in the kit. (Extra Unmask workbooks may be ordered from our website for parents who would like to go deeper in the study.)
2. Discount books
Your group can order as many of the Unmask the Predator books as you want, when you order the Unmask the Predator Homeschool Group Kit, at half priced of off retail. If you want, you may pass this savings along to your families OR you may sell the books at the retail price and help raise funds for your homeschool support group. Get your discount by calling a representative at 800-213-9899.
3. Use the free download to promote
The Open Letter to Homeschoolers makes a great handout to stir up interest in your group’s Unmask the Predators study. Simply download
and print it adding the information about your local group’s event.
4. Include the teens in the study
There is no question that our teens need extra help in navigating this sex saturated and perverse culture. As the parents are studying the issue of sexual
abuse in your group, they will be highly motivated to teach their children what they have learned. Teenagers by very nature need help recognizing and
acknowledging their vulnerability to be tricked by a predator. In their immaturity, they often believe they are invincible! Kalyn’s own words both in the
Unmask book (especially chapters 2 & 10) and the video (especially sessions 3&5) have proven very helpful to awaken and warn teens. She was too smart to be tricked.
But she was anyway. Reading her account of how that happened matures teenage understanding.
Your group may hold a separate session just for teenagers opposite the parent sessions. Included in the kit is a copy of Kalyn’s Story. In this DVD, Kalyn
shares with teenagers about the dangers of leading a secret double life. Her testimony is not at all graphic and is appropriate for pre-teen and teen
